Websites for mechanics

A website for mechanics: free homepage first, then $990 once

Car trouble is stressful, and people want a mechanic they trust not to rip them off. They search, check you out and ring. A clear website does a lot of that job before the phone rings. I build yours free first.

THE SHORT VERSIONI build a free homepage for your mechanic business first, no card and no payment. If you like it, the full five-page site is $990 once, paid $495 when you approve the homepage and $495 when it goes live. Nothing monthly. Live in 7 business days. The site is in your name, on your own account.

What mechanic customers look for before they ring

I have built websites for 20 years. For a mechanic, people check the same five things, usually on a phone, usually in a hurry.

  • Can you fix my car? The makes you work on, and the jobs you do: servicing, brakes, logbook services, pre-purchase checks.
  • Will you come to me? If you are mobile, say so loudly. "We come to you" is a strong selling point.
  • Where are you? Your suburbs or your workshop address, plus opening hours.
  • Are you fair on price? A line on pricing: quotes before work starts, no surprise add-ons.
  • Will my warranty stay valid? If you do logbook servicing, say so. Many people ask about this before booking.

What your mechanic website includes

Five pages: Home, About, Services, Projects and Contact. I write the words for your trade and use your photos. The $990 covers all of this.

  • A services page for servicing, brakes, logbook services, pre-purchase checks and what else you do
  • Mobile or workshop details front and centre, with your hours and suburbs
  • A line on pricing and quotes, in your words
  • A suburb list written for Google, so people searching for a mechanic near them find you
  • Tap to call and tap to text on every page, plus a quote form

Hosting is free, on your own Cloudflare account. I set up your domain in your name too. You only pay the registrar for the name itself, about $100 to $150 over five years.

A real example

Phone screenshot of the Driveway Mechanics sample website

I built a sample mechanic site, Driveway Mechanics, for a made-up mobile mechanic in Melbourne’s west. It shows the "comes to you" message, the servicing list and the tap-to-call layout. Yours gets your name and your suburbs.

What a website costs over five years

The sticker price is not the real price. Add up five years of fees.

Agency$3,000 to $10,000 from an agency
Rental website$99 to $299 a month, forever
Facebook page onlyFree, but you do not own it
Simple Websites for Business$990 once, plus about $100 to $150 domain renewals

A rental at $99 a month is $5,940 over five years. At $299 it is $17,940. Stop paying and the site goes. Mine stays, because it is yours.

My guarantee

I keep editing until you are happy with the site. Edits for the first 30 days after launch are free. After that, small edits are $60 each, or $290 a year for unlimited small edits. I reply within one business day.

Mechanic website questions

Yes. I list the suburbs you cover and lead with "I come to you". For a mobile mechanic, that is the main reason someone picks you.
Yes. If you specialise in Toyota, Ford or European cars, say so. People search by brand, and it tells them you know the car.
No. Online booking is not part of the $990. The site has tap to call, tap to text and a quote form. Most mechanics find a phone call works fine.
Same process. The site shows your address, hours and a map link. I put your workshop front and centre instead of the travel message.
Yes. If you do it, I give it its own line on the services page. Plenty of people look for it before they ring.

Next step

Fill in the form (about 10 minutes), send a few photos, and I build your homepage. You see it before you pay a cent.
